Mobile Police Alert Citizens About Outstanding Ticket Fines Scam

MOBILE, AL.  The Mobile Police Department is once again alerting citizens to be aware that callers are identifying themselves as law enforcement to scam people out of money.

Police are reporting that scammers are once again spoofing Mobile Police Department phone numbers and asking the person on the other end of the line to pay outstanding fines, among other requests.

Mobile police nor any law enforcement will call a person by phone demanding payments.
Most police agencies will either send an officer to your home or mail you a certified letter alerting you to the outstanding fines.

If you get these calls, hang up and notify your local police.
