Mobile Firefighters Rescue Man Trapped in a Hole on a Ship

MOBILE, AL. A technical rescue at the Mobile shipyards this morning sent personnel from the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department to the scene to help a man who was stuck in a hole.

The fire department was dispatched to the shipyard at approximately 8:15 a.m. because a worker fell into a deep hole and was unable to self-extricate himself.

When firefighters arrived, they found that a person had fallen about 8 feet down into a 25-foot hole on the deck of a ship.

A shipyard crew had to cut into the side of the ship so that firefighters could get him out and take him to a local hospital.

According to the Mobile fire officials, the man only had minor injuries.
