MOBILE, Ala.

The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department responded earlier this week to an electronic fire alarm at a local school during the late evening hours while the school was closed for their holiday break.
MFRD reported that the call came into the 911 center at about 10 p.m. Monday and that fire personnel were dispatched to the Alabama School of Math and Science.
Firefighters, upon arrival at the school, found smoke visible coming from the roof of a four-story brick residence hall.
Firefighters made forcible entry into the building and found materials burning in an attic space which they extinguished,” the MFRD release said.
According to the Mobile Fire Department, the cause of the fire is unknown but it is under investigation by the fire marshal.
No injuries or other damage was reported.
