PRICHARD, Ala. The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit has been called in to assist the Pritchard Police after a 46-year-old man was found dead over the weekend.
Pritchard police responded to a report of a shooting at the corner of Cato Avenue and O’Neill Street.
Law enforcement has identified the deceased man as Willie Cook.
The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said that Cook died of gunshot wounds and that they are investigating the death as a homicide.
Investigators found that Cook was shot in the chest and left arm.
It is believed the shooting occurred at a different location, the sheriff’s office said.
Anyone who has any pertinent information is asked to call 251-574-8633 or go to the MCSO website.
“In cases such as this, it is very important that if you see something, then say something”, said Sheriff Paul Burch for a news release. “We depend on the community to provide us with information so that we can arrest those who continue to take the law into their own hands”.
