Millions in Drugs Seized on Greyhound Bus After Traffic Stop on I-10
MOBILE Ala.
A routine traffic stop on Interstate 10 led to a major drug bust Wednesday when agents found millions of dollars’ worth of drugs on a Greyhound bus.
Federal drug agents arrested Jialong Huang after they discovered 10 kilos of fentanyl and three kilos of cocaine in a suitcase allegedly linked to him.
Task force agents Scottie Byrd, Todd Holland, and U.S. Border Patrol Agent Joe Holman stopped the bus for a license plate violation and for following too closely around 7 a.m.
Agents became suspicious after Huang, who was traveling from Texas to New York, claimed he only had a shoulder bag and backpack but denied having a suitcase.
A K-9 search alerted the officers to a locked suitcase in the bus’s cargo area. Inside, they found the drugs. Several passengers said Huang was the last to board the bus in Mobile, Ala., and camera footage confirmed he had loaded the suitcase.
Huang was arrested and remains in jail on charges of possession with intent to distribute controlled substances.
