Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood announced on Monday that Kenneth Colburn was sentenced to Life Without the Possibility of Parole.
Prior to the beginning pf Colburn’s trial for the murder of Tammy Wedgeworth, Colburn decided to plead guilty to Intentional Homicide and was sentenced to Life Without the Possibility of Parole.
At a party on January 1, 2022, victim Tammy Wedgeworth offered Kenneth Colburn a ride home. During the ride home, from the passenger side of the Wedgeworth’s truck, Colburn pulled out a gun in an attempt to rob her of her vehicle and shot her multiple times. Colburn then left Tammy Wedgeworth in a ditch on Eliza Jordan Road underneath a piece of plywood according to the district attorney’s office.
“This was a horrific act of violence committed by the defendant,” said Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood. “Kenneth Colburn will spend the rest of his life in prison because of his cold-hearted actions on January 1, 2022.”
