Major Gas Leak in Belforest Community Kept Safe by Local Fire Department

BELFOREST, Ala. The Belforest Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to an area of the community where residents had reported a smell of gas on Tuesday.
Firefighters were called out to Collier Loop at 10:40 a.m. and confirmed that there was an active gas leak.
An area utility company was called to cap the leak, but it took longer than expected.
Firefighters and several fire trucks stood by in the area for over two hours while workers repaired the leak.
Fire personnel reported no injuries or damage.
