Late Night Crash on I-10 Seriously Injures Motorcyclist
SPANISH FORT Ala.
A crash involving a motorcyclist and a passenger vehicle on I-10 seriously injured one person late Thursday night.
As heavy traffic was flowing in both directions during nearby July 4th celebration fireworks, the accident occurred near Mile Marker 33.
Several passing vehicles immediately pulled over and began to assist the injured man from the motorcycle as he was on the ground.
Multiple calls for help began flooding into the Baldwin County 911 communications, and the Spanish Fort Fire Department, ALEA troopers, and EMS all responded.
Traffic was stopped for a short time while emergency vehicles made their way to the scene.
Medics first thought that the injured male had a broken femur bone and a medical helicopter was dispatched to the scene.
As traffic was allowed to flow into a single lane, EMS made a decision to transport the patient via ground transport.
The ALEA troopers are investigating the accident.
