HUNTSVILLE, Ala. For the sixth time this year, a Huntsville police officer has been arrested and is facing very serious charges.
According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Brandon O’Field, 41, was arrested on Thanksgiving Day and charged with burglary in the first degree and two counts of kidnapping in the first degree. He is being held with no bond under Anaiah’s Law.
Deputies were called around 5 a.m. on Thanksgiving to the 200 block of Keva Street in Meridianville in connection with a domestic violence incident. Deputies at the scene found two people who said the female’s ex-boyfriend, later identified as O’Field, had broken into the home.
O’Field fled before deputies arrived, but was seen driving nearby.
Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but he failed to yield and fled, leading deputies on a chase that exceeded 100 mph.
O’Field, a Huntsville Police Officer who was off-duty at the time, returned home, where he barricaded himself inside for a short period of time. After a brief standoff, deputies said O’Field exited the residence and was taken into custody. He was taken to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division for follow-up investigation.
MCSO Major Crimes Detectives have been assigned the investigation.
