Healthcare Worker Assaulted by Patient in Spanish Fort

SPANISH FORT, Ala. A healthcare worker was attacked and assaulted by a patient in the early morning hours of Tuesday, August 4th, 2026.
According to authorities, the Spanish Fort police and fire department were dispatched to the facility located on US 90 at about 4 a.m.
Because of the nature of the incident, the patient and facility name has not been released.
From the information that we’ve obtained, the employee was not injured, and the patient may have been suffering from a medical condition that prompted the incident.
Nationwide, assaults on healthcare workers have been on the rise for a decade or more.
