Grand Bay Man Dies in Single Vehicle Crash

MOBILE COUNTY, AL. A Grand Bay man has lost his life in a traffic collision, after he lost control of his vehicle.

According to ALEA, this single vehicle crash occurred at approximately 3:57 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2026, and the driver has been identified as Charles A. Lawrence, 63.

Area fire departments, EMS and law enforcement responded to the scene and found that the 2012 Dodge Avenger he was driving left the roadway and struck several trees. Lawrence was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Fort Lake Road near Gaston Loop Road West, approximately nine miles west of Mobile, in Mobile County.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
