Fuel Pump Knocked Over at Barnwell Gas Station Brings Hazmat Response

BARNWELL, Ala. A vehicle struck a fuel pump on US Highway 98 on Sunday morning, August 31, 2025, shortly before 11 a.m., sending numerous emergency agencies to the scene.

The Barnwell Volunteer Fire Department was initially dispatched to 10525 US Highway 98 to investigate, and when firefighters arrived, they found that a fuel pump had been knocked over during the wreck, causing fuel to leak around the area of the pump.

Additional resources were called to the scene to address the hazmat situation, including the Foley Fire Department’s Hazmat Response Unit.

According to authorities, there were no injuries.
