BAY MINETTE, Ala. The wife of the former Summerdale Police Chief, Lori Brock, has been found guilty of felony possession of a forged instrument in the second degree.
Lori and Kevin Brock had both been arrested on the same charges but last week, Kevin Brock had all of his charges dropped.
The Alabama Attorney General’s office prosecuted the case. Brock and her husband, former Summerdale Chief of Police Kevin Brock, were indicted this year, accused of property fraud related to false deeds.
The penalties for forgery in the first degree range from two to twenty years in prison and up to $30,000 in fines. The second degree involves written instruments issued or created by a public office, public employee, or government agency, and carries class C felony penalties. The third degree involves checks, drafts, notes, and other commercial interests that create or affect a legal right, interest, obligation, or status, and is classified as a Class D felony. The fourth degree is a catch-all category that does not cover the first through third degrees.
At this time, Lori Brock is being held at the Baldwin County Detention Center.
