A man died in an outlying unincorporated area of Foley in January and law enforcement including the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident.
During their initial response, patrol units noticed drug paraphernalia and possible drug evidence located inside the residence. Based on the initial findings, the Baldwin County Drug Task Force was notified and responded as well as the Baldwin County Coroner’s Office.
The Coroner’s Office conducted drug testing using the Randox machine and it was presumptively determined that a fatal level of fentanyl was present in the decedent’s system.
Drug Task Force members conducted interviews and submitted items to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office digital forensics laboratory. Through digital forensics, a possible suspect was identified.
Investigators conducted follow-up interviews and it was confirmed that 33- yr -old Samantha Sheehan sold fentanyl to Hogue.
The evidence indicates that 3.5 grams of fentanyl was purchased by Hogue.
The findings of this investigation were discussed with the Baldwin County District Attorney’s Office and after all consideration of the facts of the case, Baldwin County Drug Task Force investigators signed a warrant for the arrest of thirty-three-year-old Samantha Dean Sheehan of Foley, Al.
On February 12, 2025, Sheehan was arrested and interviewed regarding this case, and she admitted to taking part in providing fentanyl to the decedent.
Sheehan has been charged with one count of Manslaughter, and she was booked into the Baldwin County Corrections Center and is being held on a No Bond.
