Foley Police Charge Man With Felony Drug Possession During Death Investigation

FOLEY, Ala. The Foley Police were called to the Baldwin Health Emergency Department at around 5:15 a.m., Friday morning, regarding a patient brought in deceased and suffering from a drug overdose.
The initial investigation revealed signs of a drug overdose and that led officers to an address in the 500 block of East Michigan Avenue where a search warrant was conducted.
While conducting a probable cause search officers did find a controlled substance and arrested Charles Edward Hatcher, age 47, of Foley for Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class D felony).
Hatcher was booked into jail.
This is a continuing investigation involving the Foley Police Department and the Baldwin County Coroner’s Office.
