Fire Causes Substantial Damage

BALDWIN COUNTY Ala.
September 8th, 2024
A fire that spread quickly in the rural part of Baldwin County on Thursday caused quite a bit of damage before area fire departments could bring it under control.
A call around 10:50 a.m., came into the Baldwin 911 center reporting that a shipping container on Barn Lane was on fire.
While police responded, the 911 center dispatched the Rosinton and the Styx River Fire Departments but as a Loxley police officer pulled up, he could see that multiple things were on fire including a boat, and a barn in addition to the originally reported shipping container.
Several other mutual-aid fire departments including Gatewoods and Robertsdale responded, and several tanker fire trucks were also dispatched to the fire scene as well.
The fire did considerable damage but was brought under control in about 40 minutes.
At this time the cause of the fire has not been released.
