Fairhope Police Arrest 3 People Involved in Organized Retail Crimes

FAIRHOPE, Ala. An investigation was begun into organized retail theft in Fairhope after a theft was reported at the Walmart store.
According to police, two people were seen by Walmart security trying to leave the store with a shopping cart full of items they did not pay for on September 13, 2025.
The pair was able to reach their vehicle and escape, with the entire incident captured on surveillance video, according to police.
Officers responded to the store and took a theft report, and officers said on Sept. 17, a woman was seen parking the vehicle that was caught on surveillance cameras and allegedly involved in the previous theft.
Police attempted to stop the vehicle, and officers then reportedly arrested the woman after a foot chase.
An investigation into the case reportedly led officers to discover that a third suspect was involved.
Officials said they found that almost $9,000 worth of merchandise had been stolen to sell online.
The items were recovered and returned to the stores, according to officials.
The people arrested included Krystal Mund, Shane Steiner, and Olivia Crawford.
Fairhope police have charged thirty-three-year-old Crawford with second-degree theft of property and second-degree receiving stolen property.
Steiner 34 has been charged with second-degree theft of property, second-degree receiving stolen property, promoting prison contraband (fentanyl), and possession of drug paraphernalia
36-year-old Mund was also charged with second-degree receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia
Police said that they have recovered stolen property from Lowe’s, Home Depot, and Walmart.
According to area law enforcement, the investigation into other crimes is underway.
