BALDWIN COUNTY Ala. The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 57-year-old Bon Secour man and has charged him with first-degree sodomy and facilitating the travel of a child for an unlawful sex act, according to officials and records.
Sheriff investigators said that in August, a report was filed with the sheriff’s office concerning inappropriate sexual text message conversations between the suspect and a juvenile. These conversations were discovered by a family member.
The sheriff’s office said investigators interviewed multiple children and it was disclosed that several crimes took place that involved sexual contact. These alleged crimes occurred in Fairhope and Foley, according to officials.
Terry Black was arrested and charged with Sodomy-With A Girl-Strong Arm and Traveling to Meet a Child for an Unlawful Sex Act.
Black is currently being held on a $300,000 bond.
BCSO investigators stated that some of the sexual abuse began in 2022 and continued frequently until June 2024.
They also said that some of the reported crimes were witnessed offenses and that the alleged offenses occurred inside multiple residences and inside a vehicle.
“As is common in child victim cases, coercion and threats were employed by the suspect in an attempt to maintain control and to keep the offenses secret,” a sheriff’s office news release states.
Black may face additional charges in the near future.
