DAPHNE, Ala. Police in Daphne recently arrested a man for Driving Under the Influence during a recent traffic stop in the city.
Herman Lambeth Jr. was one of several dozen impaired drivers arrested during traffic stops in Daphne, but he stands out among those other drivers who have been arrested.
Daphne police stated that Lambeth has been arrested fourteen times for DUI.
Daphne Police said they found him in a car outside of a hotel and when they approached him, noted he was under the influence.
Police said the Loxley resident refused any field sobriety tests.
Daphne police said that he was also wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for his arrest for violating his probation on another DUI charge.
Lambeth has been to court appointed substance abuse programs. We’re still working to determine exactly how much jail time Lambeth has served for his previous convictions.
Under Alabama law, a third DUI arrest is a felony, but many times, charges are reduced, and the person is not sentenced to prison.
The district attorney stated if found guilty of this most recent DUI, Lambeth could get at least 10 years in prison.
