Drugs, Firearms Seized, 3 Arrested in Eight Mile Drug Bust

MOBILE, Ala. The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office has announced that the Narcotics and Vice Unit has concluded a month-long narcotics investigation that resulted in the arrest of a synthetic marijuana (Spice) and high-grade marijuana trafficker operating in the Eight Mile area of Mobile County.
The sheriff’s office said that during their investigation, they found evidence and secured a search warrant.
Throughout the investigation, narcotics investigators gathered intelligence, conducted surveillance, and followed leads that ultimately led them to the suspects, according to a sheriff’s office spokesperson.
Sheriff deputies executed a search warrant at 211 Durant Ave. Eight Mile, AL. where they seized:
– Approximately (16 pounds) of high-grade, vacuum sealed marijuana
– Approximately 169.4 grams of synthetic marijuana (Spice)
– One AR-style rifle (.223 caliber)
– One semi-automatic pistol, based on the AK-47 rifle design (Draco 7.62 Caliber)
– Various narcotics paraphernalia
– Assorted currency illicitly gained through drug trafficking profits
Three people were arrested including:
Derrell Renard Maye, (DOB 05/27/94), was taken into custody and charged with Trafficking Synthetic Marijuana, Trafficking Marijuana, Illegal Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and attempt to elude.
Antonio Deanthany Sykes, (DOB 04/16/03), and Erica Le’eisha Scott, (DOB 04/25/97), were both arrested for Trafficking Synthetic Marijuana, Trafficking Marijuana, Illegal Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Derrell Maye and Antonio Sykes were both on ankle monitoring at the time of their arrest for prior murder charges. Additional charges and arrests may be filed as the case continues.
