Driver Crashes 300 Feet Off US 98 in Barnwell During Possible Medical Emergency

BARNWELL, Ala. A motor vehicle collision injured the driver and a small child on US Highway 98 on Wednesday morning.
The Baldwin County 911 Communications Center received several 911 calls at around 8:20 a.m. reporting that a vehicle had lost control and crashed about 300 feet off the road into some woods.
The Barnwell Fire Department, EMS and the Fairhope Police Department responded to the area of US 98 and Mary Ann Beach Road and found that the female driver may have had a medical emergency and crashed.
The driver and a small child were both transported by ambulance to an area hospital.
A row truck was brought in to recover the vehicle and remove it from the scene.
The Fairhope Police Department is investigating the wreck.
