Dog River Area Shooting Suspect Arrested

MOBILE Ala. The Mobile Police received 911 calls about a shooting in the area of Dog River Drive South and Parkway Drive on Sunday, May 4th, 2025, at around 1:05 a.m.
Multiple police units were sent to that area and found a male had been shot.
Mobile Fire-Rescue and an ambulance was dispatched to the scene and transported the person to an area hospital.
Upon further investigation, officers discovered the victim was in his vehicle when he was approached by two known male subjects who demanded he and his passenger exit the vehicle. Once the victim refused, police determined that the subjects pulled a gun on the victim and began shooting, striking the male victim and his vehicle.
A home in the 1700 block of Parkway Drive was also struck by gunfire.
Police were able to locate one of the males involved and have identified him as Anthony DeWayne Smiley, 21. Smiley has been arrested and is charged with:
ROBBERY 1ST
PROBATION VIOLATION – MISDEMEANOR
POSSESSION MARIJUANA 1ST
ASSAULT 1ST DEGREE
DISCHARGE GUN OCCUPIED OR UNOCCUPIED BLDG/VEHICLE
ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE
Smiley is currently being held without bond.
