Daphne Man Indicted on Federal Child Sex Charges

DAPHNE, Ala. It started with a tip, which led to an investigation and a search of a home in Daphne on November 1, 2024, and now, 24-year-old Forrest Sanford has been indicted on federal charges that could put him behind bars for the rest of his life.
The indictment includes five counts of child sex crimes.
A tip to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office sparked an investigation and a search warrant after investigators found evidence that Sanford had been posing as underage children on various social media platforms and had possession of child porn.
During an interview, Sanford admitted to possessing child sexual material, as well as posing as underage children to obtain obscene matter for sexual gratification.
Sanford was charged and arrested for one count of possession of obscene matter containing visual depiction of persons under 17 years of age involved in obscene acts, in violation of Alabama Code 13A-12-192(b).
Sanford has now been charged with two counts of Sexual Exploitation of a minor, and one count each for Transportation of a minor with intent to engage in sexual activity, Travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct, and attempted transfer of obscene material to a minor.
