Burn Complaints-Brush Fires on the Rise Again

BALDWIN COUNTY Ala. Almost a dozen burn complaints and at least eight brush/woods fire calls sent fire departments responding to neighborhoods throughout the county and several were repeat offenders.

From May 1 through Oct. 31 each year, residents are not allowed to burn trash, debris, or yard waste due to the dry and windy conditions in our area.

Construction sites and certain businesses may apply for a burn permit but the fire must be controlled, have a spotter/or fire watch and a source to put out the fire if it gets out of control.

Violators, especially repeat offenders could receive a civil or criminal citation.
