Body Recovered in Blakely River That of Missing Boater

A barge crew was the first to spot the floating body Saturday morning on the Blakeley River near Interstate 10.
They notified 911 who dispatched fire and police from Spanish Fort who were able to confirm that it was a deceased person.
The Alabama Marine Police were dispatched to the scene and took over the recovery operations.
At this time all indications are that the person is John Dejonge who police have been searching for since February 15th. After he went missing from a boating accident.
