Bicyclist Serious Injured in Elberta Wreck

A collision in Elberta Thursday morning seriously injured one person who was airlifted to an area trauma center.
The bicyclist was riding down U. S. 98 at around 9 a.m. and was struck by a vehicle and thrown to the ground causing multiple injuries according to first responders.
The Lillian and Perdido Beach Fire Departments, sheriff deputies, and an ambulance all rushed to the scene at 26132 US-98.
Traffic on U.S. 98 was shut down and had to be diverted onto County Road 95 while the patient was being treated.
A medical helicopter was called in and landed at the site of the wreck on U.S. 98.
ALEA troopers were also dispatched to the wreck which is currently under investigation.
