Bay Minette Police Charge Second Person For Murder
BAY MINETTE, Ala.

The Bay Minette Police Department arrested a second person wanted for a murder that occurred on New Year’s Day.
Investigators were able to secure an arrest warrant for 18-year-old Armani Jy’Aquarious Hooks of Bay Minette.
Hooks is charged with the murder 20-year-old Ja’Tavious Damailo French.
Police said that French was involved in a fight with two suspects at a party in Stockton on December 31st, 2024.
The three men somehow found themselves meeting again and engaged in a second fight in the 1200 block of Peacan Street in Bay Minette, and that’s when French was shot and left in the middle of the street to die, police said.
Kendrick Terrell Johnson, 18, of Daphne, was arrested on January 1st, 2025, and charged with murder and is currently being held at the Baldwin County Corrections Center.
