BALDWIN COUNTY Ala.
With temperatures in the eighties for most of the weekend and no rain in sight, county fire departments were once again kept busy responding to fires ranging from small grass fires to structure fires and everything in between.
Between Friday and midnight Sunday, Baldwin County firefighters responded to more than a dozen outside fires including small grass fires and larger woods fires. In some of those, the fire departments were called back to the same fire because they had rekindled.
Firefighters in the county also responded to several structure fires that caused considerable damage to at least two homes.
During the weekend, area firefighters were also dispatched to two vessel fires including a large boat fire on Mobile Bay where three persons were rescued from the boat. No injuries were reported at either of those fires.
Firefighters also responded to almost two dozen motor vehicle wrecks and dozens of medical emergency calls.
It was indeed another very busy weekend for our paid and volunteer firefighters!
