BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. Fire departments in Baldwin County have been kept busy during the last forty-eight hours responding to four structure fires and multiple motor vehicle collisions with injuries.
On Thanksgiving Day, the Loxley Fire Department responded to an appliance fire on Paris Circle just before 9 a.m.
When firefighters arrived, they were met by the homeowner who stated that the fire was contained in the oven and that it had been extinguished.
Firefighters assisted with ventilating the home.
Lillian, Perdido Beach, and Elberta volunteer firefighters responded to a structure fire at a boathouse on Randolph Drive. When firefighters arrived, they observed that the dock and surrounding areas were ablaze, and it took firefighters over an hour to contain and extinguish that fire.
The same fire departments were also dispatched to a home with an electrical short in a light that somehow caught a mattress on fire, but was quickly put out.
There were no injuries reported in either fire.
Gulf Shores and Foley Fire Departments also responded to fires inside homes, including a stove fire. Both of those fires were brought under control with no reported injuries.
Fire departments, police, and EMS have also responded to more than a dozen motor vehicle collisions with injuries.
