Fire Engine Crashes-Firefighter Injured in Okaloosa County

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla A firefighter responding to an emergency call has been seriously injured in a crash on Highway 2 on Friday, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.
A fire engine from the Baker Fire District crashed and rolled over near James Peaden Road and injured one firefighter.
The wreck caused a substantial amount of damage to the fire truck.
Pictures shared by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office show the front of the fire engine smashed in and its back destroyed.
The sheriff’s department said that the firefighter was flown to a trauma center by a medical helicopter.
The firefighter received severe injuries and is listed as stable at this time.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
