AUBURN, Ala. Authorities are investigating several incidents where students were drugged on and off campus in recent days.
Several students reported to police that they were involuntarily given a drug that caused loss of feeling in limbs, vomiting, dizziness, and/or loss of memory after drinking alcohol.
Auburn University Campus Safety and Security alerted the community on Friday about the reports that students had been drugged recently.
Police and Campus Safety and Security Officers offered tips for those who are experiencing symptoms. They advised seeking medical care immediately.
Officers also stated that urinalysis can be conducted to determine if a date rape drug was given, so they suggest holding urination until a test can be performed.
Possible victims should inform the medical provider that they may have been drugged and ask for a date rape drug test.
At this time the investigation is continuing, but no arrests have been made.
Officials suggest students watch their drinks.
Giving someone a drug without their permission is considered aggravated assault and is a felony.
Anyone who feels they have been drugged is asked to call 911 or contact police at 334-501-3100.
