Since the beginning of the year, there have been more than a dozen big rig accidents on I-10 between Spanish Fort and the Rosinton exit.
A noon-time wreck Tuesday in the Loxley area added one more to the growing list as it lost control and crashed into the Interstate median.
911 callers said that the wreck appeared that the truck landed up against the cable barrier after it ran off the road between mile markers 43 and 44.
The Loxley Fire Department, EMS, and state troopers were dispatched to the area and traffic was diverted to the right lane for more than an hour while the crash was being investigated and the eighteen-wheeler removed from the highway median.
The snowstorm and later the ice that covered the pavement of Interstate 10 caught drivers off guard and at least four tractor-trailers crashed and rolled over during a 72 hour period.
