A state trooper patrolling the area of Airport Blvd. in Mobile on Monday afternoon spotted a traffic infraction and checked the status of the vehicle’s license plate.
The information that the trooper received back was that the vehicle was “Wanted” and that it had been stolen in Kentucky.
The vehicle was stopped at an Aldi’s store and as more law enforcement was responding, the trooper was able to get the driver and a passenger out of the vehicle at gunpoint and then he took both people into custody.
With the assistance of other officers, the persons and vehicle were secured and Kentucky law enforcement confirmed that the vehicle was indeed stolen.
The driver was arrested and transported to the Mobile Metro jail.
