ALDOT Announces Lane Closures on I-65 Delta Bridge in September

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. The Alabama Department of Transportation has announced that work is scheduled to be done this month on the General W.K. Wilson Jr. Bridge (Delta Bridge)
Drivers traveling on Interstate 65 northbound will be met with lane closures during this month as crews work to replace bridge joints within the arch span.
McInnis Construction LLC will perform the work on behalf of the Alabama Department of Transportation.
ALDOT said drivers should expect numerous lane closures, delays, and should plan ahead.
Scheduled lane closures:
Northbound left lane: Closed continuously from Sunday, Sept. 7, at 9 p.m. until Friday, Sept. 12, at 5 a.m.
Northbound right lane: Closed continuously from Sunday, Sept. 14, at 9 p.m. until Friday, Sept. 19, at 5 a.m.
Replacement of bridge joints within the arch span across the Delta Bridge on I-65 northbound.
ALDOT also said that there will be no active permits for loads greater than 12 feet wide during the project.
Work is weather permitting, and motorists are asked to drive with caution in the work zone.
