Mobile Sheriff-Federal Task Force Make Drug Arrest

MOBILE, Ala. The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, working alongside federal law enforcement partners as part of the Gulf of America Task Force, arrested two suspects and seized significant quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl and firearms during a multi-stage narcotics operation conducted August 25, 2026.
The Gulf of America Task Force includes members of the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and Vice Unit, Homeland Security Investigations, FBI, ATF and DEA.
The investigation developed over several days as MCSO Narcotics and Vice investigators and Homeland Security Investigations conducted undercover surveillance into a suspected drug trafficking organization operating in Mobile County.
Investigators identified Dramico Monte Bailey Jr., DOB: 01/16/1997, as a primary suspect believed to be involved in transporting and distributing large quantities of narcotics from South Florida into Mobile County.
Investigators believe Bailey was working with multiple co-conspirators. Their identities are being withheld at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
At approximately 2:00 p.m. on August 25, undercover narcotics investigators observed Bailey meet with Kashunte Quintrell Tate, DOB: 03/12/1998, in a business parking lot near Silver Pine Road and Schillinger Road in Semmes. Investigators observed what they believed to be a narcotics transaction between the two men.
After leaving the location in a black Honda Accord, Tate fled when MCSO patrol deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Tate allegedly reached speeds in excess of 100 mph during the pursuit, creating a significant danger to other motorists.
Deputies ultimately conducted a vehicle intervention that ended the pursuit without injury to civilians. Following Tate’s arrest, investigators determined that a quantity of suspected illegal pills allegedly purchased during the earlier transaction had been intentionally destroyed.
Tate was transported to the Mobile County Metro Jail and charged with Felony Attempting to Elude Law Enforcement. Additional charges are pending.
Following Tate’s arrest, members of the Gulf of America Task Force moved to take Bailey into custody near Jeff Hamilton Road and McFarland Road.
During the operation, Bailey allegedly rammed multiple MCSO vehicles in an attempt to escape, resulting in a second pursuit. Deputies ultimately stopped Bailey near Airport Boulevard and I-65 Service Road North.
During a search of Bailey’s vehicle, investigators located approximately four pounds of suspected methamphetamine.
Following Bailey’s arrest, MCSO Narcotics and Vice investigators executed multiple search warrants at locations associated with Bailey, including his residence.
In total, investigators seized approximately:
- Five pounds of suspected methamphetamine
- One kilogram of suspected powder cocaine
- 21 grams of suspected powdered fentanyl
- 10 firearms, including three semi-automatic rifles and seven handguns
Bailey was arrested on multiple felony charges, including:
- Trafficking narcotics
- Felony Attempting to Elude Law Enforcement
- Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person
- Reckless Endangerment
- Resisting Arrest
- Criminal Mischief First Degree
Additional state charges are expected, and investigators are working with federal partners
regarding potential federal charges and indictments.
“This operation is an example of exactly why these partnerships matter,” Sheriff Paul Burch said.
“Drug trafficking does not stop at a city, county or state line, and neither can law enforcement.
These investigators followed this organization, identified the people involved and took a significant amount of methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl and firearms off the streets of Mobile County. When someone brings this level of narcotics into our community and then puts innocent motorists and our deputies in danger trying to escape, we are going to use every resource available to hold them accountable.
The investigation remains active, and additional arrests and charges are possible
