Multiple Emergency Services Respond to Vessel in Distress

FORT MORGAN, Ala. – A vessel that was deemed to be off the Fort Morgan coastline and in trouble sent a distress signal Friday afternoon.
Baldwin County 911 Communications dispatched the Fort Morgan Fire Department, EMS and ALEA Marine Police after receiving 911 calls that the boat was sinking with several souls aboard.
Emergency personnel from multiple agencies responded to the area.
The U.S. Coast Guard also dispatched emergency personnel.
Within a short time, rescuers located the boat that was in trouble and aided the vessel occupants.
We were told that at least one person had minor injuries and that everyone was checked by EMS.
This is the third vessel in distress that has been aided by area emergency services during the past week.
