2 Injured After Small Plane Crashes in Bay Minette

BAY MINETTE, Ala. On January 27th, 2026, at approximately 10:49 am, the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office responded to 12766 Airport Road, in Bay Minette, reference to a single engine airplane crash.
Local fire departments and ambulances also responded.
Deputies located the two pilots, Madelyn Dibble, and Tori Gettemeier walking towards the roadway from the site of the wreck.
The occupants advised the aircraft experienced an engine failure while in flight.
The pilot attempted emergency procedures and an emergency landing but was unable to reach the airport due to insufficient altitude. The aircraft subsequently came to rest in a wooded area adjacent to the Bay Minette Airport.
Both occupants appeared to have non-life-threatening injuries but were transported to Sacred Heart Hospital for further evaluation.
The scene has been secured and the FAA was notified.
