1 Person Airlifted to USA Trauma Center After Boat Crash

DAUPHIN ISLAND Ala. ALEA Marine police have released the names of individuals who were in the boat that crashed at the Dauphin Island Bridge on Tuesday.
The US Coast Guard Office in Mobile stated that two of their helicopters from the Aviation Training Center in Mobile were conducting training, when they saw a boat go straight for the runway and hit the rocks at 8:50 p.m. last night.
They said that the boat tried to turn but that it was too late and the vessel crashed.
Officials say that Haven Freewill Pomeroy, 36, was injured when the 18-foot Center Console vessel crashed. Zebediah Eli Basewell, 32, was operating the boat, according to ALEA. Both individuals are from Tennessee.
Six people were on the boat including children and adults. One adult male was ejected from the boat and was flown to the USA trauma center in Mobile.
The Coast Guard says the five other victims were evaluated by medical on scene and determined to have no significant injuries.
ALEA marine police are currently investigating this vessel crash.
