US Marshals, Baldwin County Deputies Capture Murder Suspect

BAY MINETTE, Ala. Bay Minette police and federal law enforcement have been searching for a man wanted for a shooting that occurred on May 23rd, this year during a house party.
According to the Bay Minette Police Chief, Decareus Keywon Mallory Andrews, 28, of Bay Minette, has now been arrested in connection with the shooting death of 21-year-old Dyrontae Condarrly Booker of Atmore.
On May 23, a Bay Minette Police officer was on patrol in the 900 block of Daphne Road when they heard gunshots and saw someone running from a home where a large party was being held, the release said.
The officer chased the suspect but lost him after several blocks. When the officer returned to the scene of the shooting, they found Booker lying in the yard with several gunshot wounds, the release said.
Booker was taken to North Baldwin Infirmary, but died from his injuries, according to the release.
Through the investigation, officers identified Andrews as the suspect, and a warrant was issued, the release said.
Andrews has been charged with Murder and Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Firearm.
He has been booked into the Baldwin County Detention Center.
“This arrest marks a significant step forward in bringing justice to the victim’s family,” the release said.
The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office assisted in this case, according to the police chief.
