Two Women Arrested After Stealing Two Red Rump Tarantulas From Pet Store

MOBILE, AL. Mobile police were recently called to a pet store after a person was involved in a theft at the store.
On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the B&B Pet Store, located at 5035 Cottage Hill Road, in reference to a retail theft.
Upon arrival, officers met with store employees who advised officers that unknown subjects had entered the store and had removed two Red Rump Tarantulas from their habitat and exited the location without paying for them.
Police continued their investigation, and on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers were able to locate and detain a subject believed to have been involved in the theft.
Rayjah Johnson, 22, was charged with organized retail theft and transported to Metro Jail.
A second woman, identified as Talajiah Johnson was also arrested was also arrested for her involvement in the theft.
