Two Police Pursuits End in Drug Arrests

MOBILE, AL.
Police in Mobile were involved in two pursuits that resulted in multiple charges including drug possession.
On Friday, April 10, 2026, at approximately 2:22 p.m., officers activated their blue lights and siren and attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of St. Stephens Road and Wilson Avenue, but the driver refused to stop.
The driver led officers on a pursuit that ended in the area of St. Stephens Road and Division Street where the driver exited the vehicle and ran on foot.
However, police were able to catch the driver, who was identified as Robert Grayson, Jr., 39, who was arrested and transported to Metro Jail.
Grayson has been charged with:
FAIL TO SIGNAL
POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
DRIVING WHILE REVOKED
RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT
ATTEMPT TO ELUDE-FELONY
On Saturday, April 11, 2026, at approximately 1:30 a.m., officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Lucerne Drive and Overlook Road, but the driver refused to stop.
The driver led officers on a pursuit that ended in the area of Moffett Road and Forrest Dale Drive when the driver struck a curb.
Samuel Pettway, 36, was arrested and transported to Metro Jail.
Pettway has been charged with:
ATTEMPTING TO ELUDE POLICE
POSSESSION OF COCAINE
RESISTING ARREST
POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHRNALIA
POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA
ILLEGAL POSSESION OF PRESCRIPTION DRUGS
Both drivers are currently being held at the Mobile metro jail.
