Two Early Morning Wrecks Shut Down Roads in Two Cities
SUMMERDALE Ala.

Two major motor vehicle accidents shut down two roads and injured the drivers of
both vehicles in the early morning hours.
Both wrecks occurred within thirty minutes of each and, in two different cities.
The first accident was reported in Summerdale at around 4:40 a.m. in the 17,700 Block of County Road 34.
The single-vehicle accident left a power pole broken in the middle of the road early Thursday morning.
The driver of the vehicle lost control and struck the pole but didn’t receive any serious injuries.
About thirty minutes later, another serious crash occurred near 36603 State Highway 59 in Stapleton near Three Brothers Arms gun store.
When the Stapleton Fire Department arrived on scene at approximately 5:13 a.m., they found one vehicle was on fire and the northbound side of Highway 59 had to be shut down.
The Bay Minette Fire Department was also dispatched to the scene to assist.
At one point, both lanes of Highway 59 were shut down and traffic was diverted.
Both accidents were cleared up within three hours and are under investigation.
