Traffic Stop Leads to Major Drug Arrest on Interstate 65

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Ala. A major drug arrest in Escambia County Alabama has been made after deputies made a traffic stop on Interstate 65.
The Escambia County (Alabama) Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit observed a 2023 Cadilac XTS on Interstate 65 Northbound commit a traffic infraction and pulled the vehicle over.
Deputies obtained probable cause to conduct a search of the vehicle resulting in the seizure of approximately 22 pounds of cocaine with an estimated street value of $250,000.
The two occupants of the vehicle were identified as Dominick Balli and James Godbe, both residents of Texas.
Both men were arrested and charged with Cocaine Trafficking and have been booked into the Escambia County Jail
Authorities say that this is an ongoing investigation involving the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and that both men are being held on a 1-million-dollar bond each.
