BAY MINETTE, Ala. At least juveniles are responsible for a rash of vehicle break-ins according to Bay Minette Police Chief, Al Tolbert.
The Chief said that one 14-year-old has been arrested, and two other 14-year-olds have been identified in connection with those car burglaries.
According to Police Chief Al Tolbert, the break-ins happened in the McMillan Avenue area between 1 and 3 a.m.
Two of the teens are being charged with five counts of breaking and entering a vehicle.
The teen who has already been arrested is being charged with five counts of breaking and entering a vehicle, second-degree receiving stolen property, and seven counts of fraudulent use of a cash app card.
The stolen property charge stems from the theft of a 410-caliber bolt-action rifle during one of the vehicle break-ins on June 11.
Tolbert couldn’t identify the names of those involved and didn’t say if they might face more charges.
Officials said the gun, along with other stolen items, was found Friday morning when officers searched the teen’s room.
