MOBILE Ala. Local and federal law enforcement continued their immigration raids at businesses throughout Mobile and Baldwin Counties during the past week, arresting at least forty-six people who have illegally entered the US.
This comes after the FBI announced it reached a milestone last month with more than 500 arrests in Southern Alabama since January 20, 2025.
On Monday, the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office and federal agents from the FBI, HIS and other federal agencies were in the Foley area. Eleven people were arrested during that immigration enforcement event. According to the FBI, eight of the eleven people had a criminal history, including domestic violence with a deadly weapon, hit-and-run, and discharging a firearm in public.
The following day, fifteen more arrests were made and the Fairhope Police Department assisted federal agents in making those arrests.
The FBI says eight of those individuals had prior criminal histories, including drug possession, DUI, and immigration-related arrests.
On Wednesday, Mobile County law enforcement partnered with federal agents and arrested nine people in the Mobile area.
Eleven more people were arrested in Baldwin County on Thursday. The FBI says six of those taken into custody had a criminal history, including DUI, hit-and-run, evading arrests and drug convictions.
Other arrests made in the last 30 days include an immigration enforcement event on May 20th in Baldwin County. Federal agencies arrested eight people. The FBI says one of the people arrested had an outstanding warrant out of Florida and prior convictions.
On May 29th, a large-scale immigration takedown in Baldwin County resulted in 18 people being taken into custody. On June 3rd, federal agencies and the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28 undocumented migrants.
Federal and local law enforcement stated that these arrests will continue throughout the area and that employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants could face criminal charges.
