Man Wanted For Pritchard Shooting Surrenders to Police

UPDATED: Williams, surrendered to the police Tuesday evening.
The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office responded with the Pritchard Police to a reported shooting on Monday, February 24, 2025.
Police and sheriff deputies arrived at 1120 Travis Avenue in Prichard, and found one male had been shot.
The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes and Crime Scene Units were dispatched to the scene.
The victim, Wayne Jones, (Dob: 3/12/1964), was taken to a local hospital where he immediately went into emergency surgery.
He is currently listed as being in critical condition.
Law enforcement said that the suspect fled the scene before deputies arrived.
According to witnesses at the scene when the shooting occurred, three people were inside the home and two began arguing.
The suspect went outside and retrieved a gun from his vehicle and fired two shots at the front door striking the victim.
The suspect has been identified as JOSEPH RAYSHAUN WILLIAMS, (DOB 8/15/1981). MCSO Detectives have signed warrants for Assault 1st and shooting into an occupied building.
Currently, Williams remains at large.
