Suspect in Three Homicides Surrenders to Mobile Police

Mobile Police homicide investigators have been working hard to solve the murders of three men that were killed on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at approximately 7:34 p.m. on Theodore Dawes Road at I-10.
Investigators were able to link a subject that they believe did the shooting and obtained arrest warrants for Anthony Morales Rivera.
As they were searching for Rivera, he turned himself into police.
Rivera, 34, is now faces three criminal charges of murder and has been booked into Metro Jail Monday, January 27, 2025.
Rivera fled to Puerto Rico after the murders and the FBI had an arrest warrant for him for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution for fleeing
Officers discovered that the three victims were involved in a physical altercation with a known male subject while stopped at the overpass.
During the altercation, police say that Riviera pulled a gun and shot each of the victims.
Both subjects left the area in separate vehicles before officers arrived.
The victims were identified as Marco Alvarado, 24, Christon Aponte, 30, and Angel Esparra, 28.
