Under Alabama law, specifically the 2023 legislation (HB153), it is illegal to place an electronic tracking device (like an Apple AirTag or GPS) on another person’s property without consent for purposes of stalking, harassment, or unlawful surveillance. This is a Class C felony, or a Class B felony if it violates a protective order.
