Sudden Rainfall Leads to Multiple Crashes on Interstate 10

SPANISH FORT Ala.

A sudden downpour, sprinkled with thunder and lightning is usually not a good combination for drivers as was proven again yesterday afternoon.

As the rain began to cross the Mobile Bay from West to East, three accidents and a stranded motorist were reported along Interstate 10 within a few miles of each other.

In one of those crashes, injuries were reported.

One crash was caused because of hydroplaning according to authorities.

All of the accidents temporarily shut down a lane of I-10 for a short time but traffic was kept flowing.
