BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. A man has been arrested after a shooting over hot water!
Deputies with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office were called to the North Baldwin Infirmary by hospital personnel after a man came to the emergency room with gunshot wounds to the torso, thigh and hand.
Deputies said that the victim told them that his neighbor in the Crossroads community shot him.
Deputies took his statement, and investigators were dispatched to the scene.
When investigators responded to the scene, they found 65-year-old Herbert Eddie Killcreas at his residence on Wiggins Lane, just 100 yards from the victim’s home on Dixon Road.
Killcreas admitted he shot the victim.
According to law enforcement, Killcreas was taking a shower at the victim’s home when Killcreas accused him of turning off the hot water. He walked outside to his truck, retrieved his shotgun, and fired a shot in the direction of the victim.
The suspect said he didn’t mean to hit the man, who is a friend, and said he was just trying to scare him.
Killcreas was charged with second-degree assault and booked into the Baldwin County Corrections Center.
The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
